On Tuesday morning, a man was shot and killed outside a tavern in Harrison Township.

Around 1:04 a.m., firefighters were sent to the 4900 block of Old Barn Road, close to the Palms Lounge and Grill in Harrison Township, in response to reports of a shooting, according to News Center 7 Daybreak.

When crews arrived, they discovered a shot male victim. According to a news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, he was declared deceased at the scene.

A 911 call that News Center 7 was able to obtain indicates that the victim is believed to be a bar security guard.

He was shot during a fight behind the pub, according to the announcement. Before deputies could arrive, the suspect left the scene.

One car collided on Shiloh Springs Road and North Main Street close to the shooting area while the investigation was underway.

Deputies think the crash and the shooting are connected, the release said. They were unable to locate the driver when they got to the scene of the collision.

The suspect is still missing.

Both the gunshot and the collision are still being looked into by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
