A woman from Southern California was arrested by authorities for allegedly running brothels at the skin treatment salons she owned in Orange and Ventura counties.

The suspect was identified by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office as Yorba Linda resident Amanda Xia, 44.

In early 2024, detectives started looking into claims that Swan Spa, which is situated in Thousand Oaks at the 100 block of North Rancho Road, was running a commercial sex business.

Evidence, according to the authorities, showed that Xia, the defendant, was profiting monetarily from the illicit services her workers were offering to clients.

Investigators determined that three additional spas run by Xia were brothels that carried out comparable illicit sex operations.

According to government sources, detectives were able to positively identify several male suspects who were suspected of buying commercial sex at each of the four places under investigation.

Xia was arrested in her Orange County home on charges of pimping, pandering, and money laundering.

On November 13, search warrants were issued for the suspect’s residence and all four spa locations:

  • Swan Spa 100 block of North Rancho Road, Thousand Oaks
  • Star Spa 400 black of North Ventu Park Road, Newbury Park
  • Victoria Spa 23000 block of El Toro Road, Lake Forest
  • Four Seasons Spa 20000 block of Lake Forest Drive, Lake Forest

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office were among the agencies that took part in the coordinated operation.

After being arrested, Xia is currently being jailed on $100,000 bail.
