A lady has been officially charged with causing a fatal collision.

According to court documents, Tiffany Pierce, 34, has been charged by Montgomery County prosecutors with one felony count of aggravated homicide and an OVI.

On August 25, deputies and emergency personnel arrived at the 7400 block of State Route 4 in Jefferson Township following preliminary reports of a collision, according to News Center 7.

On State Route 4, Pierce was operating a 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 north when it swerved to the right and then back onto the road.

The crash report states that she struck a 2012 Brown Cadillac SRX driven by 62-year-old Sheryl Matthews after crossing the center line into the opposing lane.

Matthews went back to the middle of the road before making a right turn. Both automobiles crashed in the front left corners as she attempted to dodge the Mercedes.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals by ambulance, where Matthews passed away from her wounds.

Matthews was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the crash report.

Pierce was seriously hurt.

Online jail records indicate that Pierce was taken into custody on November 11. She is incarcerated at Montgomery County Jail at the moment.

On November 26, she is expected to appear in court again.
