A 41-year-old Rockingham woman faces felony charges after allegedly failing to return a moving truck.

Kristina Long is charged with felony motor vehicle larceny, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony identity theft, and felony obtaining property under false pretense, according to Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis in a press release issued on Friday.

Chavis reported that on Oct. 11, his department responded to a company at Highway 5 and Ridgeline Road for an unreturned moving vehicle. The business name was not provided.

“After investigating the claims, Aberdeen officers gathered witness accounts, accounting documents, and video surveillance, which helped them identify Long as the culprit. Officers discovered that Long falsely identified herself as another person while committing the offense of vehicle motor theft.”

Warrants were obtained after a second victim talked with police on October 16.

Long was captured in Richmond County on November 4. She was placed on a $20,000 secured bail.
