Sharing is caring!

One woman from the Hudson Valley is in jail for hitting and running away from a woman who was pushing a guy in a wheelchair.

Angela Fischl, 25, of Newburgh pleaded guilty this week in Ulster County Court to two counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident That Caused Death.

Fischl was given a six-month jail term and five months of probation.

“This was a terrible situation. If she had stopped as the law required and helped, she probably would not have been charged with such serious crimes, based on what we know about the whole case.”

It is very important to stop because quick help could mean the difference between life and death in these situations.

Also, letting the victim’s family and the community know that you cared means a lot. “We all have a duty to everyone on the roads because we use them in different ways,” said Emmanuel C. Nneji, the district attorney.

This is about a hit-and-run death that happened on March 1, 2024, outside of The Falcon on Route 9W in the town of Marlboro in Ulster County. The person pleaded guilty and was sentenced.

The people who died were named as Stephen Celuch, 75, and Donna Cristallo, 72. Both men were from Kingston.

At the sentence, family members of both victims spoke. They talked about how full of life the victims had been and how painful their deaths were.

Fish hit both of them with her 2020 Kia Forte outside of the famous music venue while Cristallo was pushing Celuch in a wheelchair.
