On Thursday, police in East Oakland arrested someone, found drugs, and confiscated several firearms from an alleged illicit gaming operation.
The 1000 block of East 12th Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, was the site of several search warrants, according to the officers. The warrants were issued, according to the police, in response to “recent violent incidents in the area.”
Police claimed to have discovered several gaming machines and an unauthorized casino during the raid. Cash, drugs, and illegal firearms were also discovered.

A man who officers claimed had an outstanding warrant for a shooting in Oakland was also taken into custody. The name of the suspect was not disclosed by the police.
