According to police, a 64-year-old Ohio father is accused of killing his 24-year-old daughter by shooting her inside his Sycamore Township house and leaving her body there for her sister to discover.

Following reports of an unconscious woman, officers were called to a residence on 6th Avenue in the northern Cincinnati suburb just before 1 a.m., according to Kyla Woods, public information officer for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports, investigators found Heather Thompson, 24, bleeding in the front yard. According to reports, her sister found her close to the house’s front room.

In recorded 911 recordings, the unnamed lady allegedly tried to save her sister’s life after the finding by telling dispatchers, “I just got home and she’s not breathing.”

The dispatcher said, “You’ll have to follow my instructions,” according to WCPO 9. We will need to begin CPR. According to the incident report, officers tried CPR later, but it wasn’t until EMS staff loaded the young woman into an ambulance that they recognized she had been shot.

After being transported to Bethesda Hospital, Thompson was declared deceased. Franklin Thompson, 64, the father of both women, was eventually found by deputies after searching the neighborhood.

When the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office took him in for interrogation, deputies found a gun on him. One count of murder was later brought against him.

Neighbors claim that deputies discovered the man in a wooded area. The 64-year-old had a recent brain operation that left him with long-lasting problems, according to a police incident report that the outlet was able to get. However, the report did not identify the specific problems.

A couple of houses down from the Thompsons, Michael Vaughn and Jess Gilbert, were neighbors and reported that they were awake when the gunfire erupted shortly after midnight.

After exchanging glances, we thought, “That sounds like a gunshot, right?” Vaughn uttered those words. After that, the pair told WCPO 9 that they saw the sheriff’s deputies arrive and take Franklin into custody, saying that they undoubtedly lifted him off the ground and took him to the car.

Vaughn said the couple was worried about their child’s safety during the encounter. I made sure the windows were locked, Gilbert continued. Every few minutes, I stopped over to see how she was doing and to make sure she was okay. It was not revealed how old the couple’s daughter was.

The incident is still being investigated. Although most murder accusations entail a minimum of several years in jail, it is uncertain what level of murder charges Franklin will face, making it impossible to estimate what punishments he would face.
