New round of Social Security payments in January 2025: increased maximum amounts and mandatory requirements
US Government confirms that on January 15 all pension will be increased by 2.5%
On January 22, 2025, thousands of Americans who receive Social Security Disability benefits will be able to enjoy a new check to utilize for everyday costs. Not every American who receives one of these checks, though, will be able to pick it up on this day. Checks are picked up by each beneficiary group on a different day.
Each Social Security Disability benefit is solely based on our birthdate and year of retirement. The benefit payment will be sent just once a month unless we get a check for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The 31st of the month will see another payment if we receive this additional check, however it will be an additional payment.
How to get the January 22nd Disability payment?
Two considerations must be made if we wish to receive the January 22nd Social Security Disability payment. The beneficiary’s birthday is one aspect of it. Alternatively, the year of retirement.
Therefore, in order to get this payout, the following conditions must be met:
-
To have a
benefit since after May 1997.
-
Have a
birthday between the 21st and 31st
of any month.
In this instance, if a person has activated Direct Deposit, they will be eligible to receive the payment right away. If not, it could take up to three days for the disability payment to show up. But it’s also important to remember that not every beneficiary will receive the $1,800 amount. Every citizen’s check is unique.
Can I get this check without having a disability?
Disability retirees are not the only recipients of the January 22nd Social Security benefit payment. All citizens who fulfill the two prerequisites receive the payment. It makes no difference what kind of retirement you have or how much you receive.
You can get the check without any issues if it’s for retirement because of your age. Similarly, if you applied for retirement at age 67 or 70, you can also receive it. The day you get your monthly cheque is unaffected by these details.
