According to a transit agency official, BART train service was suspended on a section of the East Bay’s Berryessa line on Wednesday morning due to a track equipment issue.
Service in both directions is being impacted by the issue, which was first reported on the rails between the Hayward and South Hayward stations just after 5:30 a.m.
As of 7 a.m., there was no service between the Union City and Bay Fair stations because trains were turning back there, according to BART spokesperson Chris Filippi.
According to Filippi, Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses are assisting in transporting people between the impacted stations.
