BART police officer injured in overnight traffic collision in Richmond

According to authorities, a car that reportedly ran a red light in Richmond struck a BART police officer’s patrol car early Monday, sending him to the hospital.

According to a statement from BART spokesman Jim Allison, the officer was not seriously hurt in the collision.

The crash was reported at around two in the morning, and Richmond police are looking into it.

According to Allison, the BART police car was on ordinary patrol and wasn’t engaged in a pursuit at the time.
