Police officers in Hartford, Connecticut, are seen on body camera processing a woman following her arrest in a murder that took place thousands of miles away.
Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, is accused of killing her still-unaccounted-for roommate, 42-year-old Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, and is charged with second-degree murder in Florida.
Victoria-Gonzalez reported the victim missing on December 27, 2022, according to the Orlando Police Department. Around 1:30 p.m. that day, officers arrived at the 6200 block of Curry Ford Road.
Authorities believe Victoria-Gonzalez’s allegation that she hadn’t seen Medina-Pacheco since Christmas is untrue.
Detectives found many discrepancies in Victoria-Gonzalez’s version of events as the investigation progressed, according to a statement from Orlando police.
When a search warrant was carried out at their home, important evidence that a violent incident had taken place was found.
Authorities eventually found and spoke with Victoria-Gonzalez in Hartford, 1,200 miles from Orlando.
On November 6, 2024, when the body camera footage was taken, police detained her after concluding that there was enough evidence to establish probable cause.
Victoria-Gonzalez says she doesn’t speak much English in the video, and a police translator provides her instructions in Spanish.
Medina-Pacheco is absent in the interim.
From the Orlando Police Department:
Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been found. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call the Orlando Police Department Homicide Unit or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477), according to the department.
