A Metro ambassador’s quick actions helped save a woman who was stabbed at a bus stop in Los Angeles County.

The incident took place near the Los Angeles General Medical Center at the corner of Marengo and State streets in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood.

The victim, a 52-year-old woman, was waiting for her bus when a man attacked her from behind, stabbing her unexpectedly.

Fortunately, a Metro ambassador nearby quickly stepped in to help her get to the hospital for immediate treatment.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said that officers were on the lookout for the attacker while the Metro ambassador assisted the woman.

After the attack, a witness came forward and pointed out the suspect, leading to his arrest.

The LAPD described the attacker as a transient male, and the detectives will continue to handle the investigation into this criminal act.

Hilda Solis, a Los Angeles County supervisor, praised the Metro ambassador for their fast response and care toward the victim.

She highlighted the need for safer public transportation and promised to keep pushing for stronger safety measures at all bus stops and Metro stations.

“I’m very concerned about the safety at our bus stops and across our entire public transportation system. We need to ensure these places are safe for everyone,” Solis stated.

She stressed the importance of taking more actions to stop such incidents from happening again.
