Sharing is caring!

According to reports, 14-year-old Kelaia Turner of South Carolina hanged herself after being harassed by other middle schoolers all the time. A complaint claims that the same bullies visited Turner in the intensive care unit and snapped derogatory pictures of her. Although she did not die as a result of her suicide attempt, she suffered severe brain damage.

Before, Kelaia Turner went to Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School, where she endured a lot of torturous bullying. Other students frequently made fun of Turner, calling her “roach” or “mustache face.” Teachers added to Turner’s embarrassment by joining in the teasing.

Ty Turner, Kelaia’s mother, told WYFF4 that the school did nothing to stop the bullying. Ty told the news agency that I personally contacted the school at least seven or nine times and that I had the correspondence. They didn’t reply half the time, and when they did, it was never with any kind of resolution or nourishment.

On March 17, 2023, Kelaia hanged herself in her bedroom as a result of the ongoing torture. As she opened the door, Ty was appalled to learn of the terrible situation. Ty informed me that she had already urinated on herself, was chilly to the touch, and had blood streaming from her nose. She was gone for eight minutes and totally focused on what she was trying to achieve. The paramedics were unable to locate her heartbeat or pulse.

After around eight minutes, Kelaia passed away, suffered severe brain damage, and spent weeks in a coma. Kelaia’s bullies visited her in the intensive care unit during this period. As a ridiculous joke, they took pictures of Turnery unconscious and uploaded them later.

It is unimaginably horrific and disturbing to make fun of a 14-year-old girl who attempted suicide. Sadly, words can cause pain. They used to say, “Words will never hurt me, but sticks and stones will break my bones.” Ty Turner stated, “We will only carry words.”

Ty is now suing the district for Kelaia’s expenses in an attempt to get justice for her daughter. These include, among other things, special schooling and medical costs. To help Kelaia Turner and her family, Schine Turner started a GoFundMe page.

The Turney family’s accusations have already been denied by the school system in a statement. According to the press release, the District has spoken with the parent directly about the accusations made by this parent. At the time, they said, they looked into the allegations. Our sympathies are with Kelaia Tecora Turner, her mother, and their family, even though we disagree with the accusations.
