One car flipped over on its roof in a crash near Aberdeen Lake on Sunday afternoon, but no major injuries were reported. Around 3 p.m., the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Lakeshore Drive in Aberdeen. It caused traffic backups, and EMS had to take one person to the hospital.
Authorities say the accident happened when a car pulled into the path of the southbound Toyota, flipping it over and falling on its roof.
No one in either car was badly hurt, but one person was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening after being checked out by EMS at the scene.
Both southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were stopped for a long time while workers cleared the road of debris and other things that were in the way.
The crash is being looked into by the Aberdeen Police.
Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Police, and Rockwell Towing were some of the teams that came to help.
