Court documents: Suspect in Mt. Echo Park murder is arrested

County of HamiltonAfter reportedly killing someone on December 28 in Mt. Echo Park, a man is currently incarcerated.

According to court documents, Rasu Amir Salaam, 25, is accused of one count of murder after using a semi-automatic weapon to shoot and kill Limber Gomez Rivera, 27.

Around 7:54 p.m., the gunshot occurred at 202 Crestline Ave.

An affidavit claims that Salaam and the victim were both in a minor car accident at Mount Echo Park.

As Rivera drove to another part of the park, Salaam shot him several times, according to court filings.

The affidavit states that Salaam then left the park, pulled over a short distance, inspected his car for damage, and then went home.

Rivera was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after a witness at the incident dialed 911, and the following day, he was declared dead.

After establishing that the car in question was registered in Salaam’s name, detectives and Cincinnati SWAT carried out a search warrant on January 2.

According to the affidavit, both Salaam and the damaged car were there when they got to his house on Stillwell Road.

Officers found a firearm and a number of other items during the search of the house.

According to jail records, Salaam was arrested on Friday morning and taken to Hamilton County Jail.

A $1 million bail was issued for him.
