The driver was going fast on the highway when the California Highway Patrol noticed a hitchhiker who looked strange.
In San Jose, when police pulled over the driver, they found a dead body sitting next to them, the CHP-San Jose said in a Facebook post on October 11.
“Now that it’s Halloween, it’s important to remember that decorations being moved in the back seat do not count toward carpool requirements,” CHP wrote.
CHP shared a picture of an officer giving the driver what looks like a ticket through the passenger window of the car.
After all, the skeleton “was wearing (a) seatbelt,” and people on Facebook were quick to make jokes about it. Some asked if the cop had to “check for a “pulse?”
