The California Highway Patrol reports that a multiple-vehicle collision on Pittsburg’s westbound state Highway 4 early Friday morning claimed the life of at least one person.
Patrol officers were notified of a collision involving four vehicles on Highway 4’s eastbound lanes close to the Railroad Avenue off-ramp at approximately 5:10 a.m., according to the CHP.
All eastbound lanes in the vicinity were shut due to the collision, and traffic was rerouted to the Bailey Road off-ramp, according to the CHP.
Since there is no expected timing for the freeway’s complete reopening, drivers are recommended to take other routes.
