A Fargo employee has been charged with felony theft after police claim he used his employer’s company credit card to make over $75,500 in illegal purchases.

Court documents show that Levi Mayo, who was employed by A&R Drywall, used the corporate credit card to pay for authorized purchases like building supplies and gasoline, but he had to provide all of his receipts. The owner of the business says he started looking into the bank statement after realizing the card’s expenses were out of control.

The owner claims that Mayo acknowledged using the card three to five times a day to purchase energy drinks that were equal to a tank of gas, but he was unaware that the amount was so large.

Although the owner claims he never accepted the terms, Mayo told authorities he had an agreement to reimburse the owner.

The purported heist took place from November 2023 to May 2024. The maximum penalty for the felony charge is 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
