On Wednesday morning, two tractor-trailers collided on US-35 close to Bidwell, killing one person.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reports that the collision occurred at approximately 11 a.m. when two tractor-trailers collided from behind.
Jason Roaden, 54, of Fairfield, Ohio, was driving the rear truck when it drifted off the left side of the road and caught fire.
On the spot, Roaden was declared deceased. The other tractor-trailer’s driver was unharmed.
Due to the collision, US-35 was forced to close in the vicinity, and drivers were encouraged to use other routes.
The event happened close to a rest area near Bidwell, according to confirmation from the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office.
A section of the road was still blocked as of Wednesday afternoon while investigators worked on the case.
