For Trump inauguration, Hundreds of Pennsylvania National Guards soldiers, airmen heading to DC

(WHTM) HARRISBURG, PAIt has been confirmed that the Pennsylvania National Guard would send several hundred military men to Washington, DC, for the 60th Presidential Inauguration.

It is just three weeks till President-elect Donald J. Trump takes the oath of office for the second time, the first since he defeated Democratic contender Hillary Clinton on January 20, 2017.

The Pennsylvania National Guard will provide security for Trump’s second inauguration.

More than 750 soldiers and airmen from the Pennsylvania National Guard will assist the District of Columbia National Guard in making sure the 60th Presidential Inauguration and related festivities are carried out safely, according to State Public Affairs Officer Wayne V. Hall.

About 1,000 men of the Pennsylvania National Guard were sent by former Governor Tom Wolf to help the National Guard in Washington, D.C., with President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January 2021.

This year’s inauguration, which takes place on Martin Luther King Day, will feature a parade celebration and a luncheon at the Capitol, according to Nexstar’s Washington DC Bureau.

Additionally, on Sunday, January 19, the day before Inauguration Day, a victory rally will take place at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
