East New York, Brooklyn —
The former Linden Blvd Multiplex Cinemas has officially been transformed into a massive Food Bazaar Supermarket, bringing a much-needed full-service supermarket to the East New York community.
Located on Linden Boulevard near Loring Avenue, the site was once home to the neighborhood’s only movie theater, before the 8-acre parcel of land was sold to Food Bazaar as reported on EastNewYork.com in 2023.
The opening is a significant upgrade for nearby residents, particularly those living in Linden Plaza and the Pink Houses, who previously had to travel over a mile to the ShopRite at Gateway Mall for full grocery runs.
Now, with a major supermarket right in their own backyard, local families have easier access to fresh produce, meats, seafood, and household essentials.
This new location adds to Food Bazaar’s presence in the area, complementing their existing East New York store at 111-10 Flatlands Avenue and a Brownsville location at 417 Junius Street.
As retail and residential development continue to grow in East New York, the arrival of this supermarket marks a shift in local infrastructure to better meet the needs of the community.
