Sharing is caring!

A Hayward man is facing serious charges for allegedly sharing explicit images of his high school girlfriend without her consent.

Eric Flores, a 20-year-old resident of Hayward, has been charged with a felony for distributing explicit photos and videos, according to court records.

Flores was charged in late September with one count of possessing and/or distributing child pornography, and a misdemeanor for sharing an explicit image with the intent to cause distress.

He was released after posting a $50,000 bail but has been ordered by the court to avoid contact with minors and to stay away from the alleged victim.

The case came to light earlier this year when the victim, a woman, reported the incident to the San Leandro police.

She told authorities that she discovered the intimate photos and videos she had shared privately with Flores had been uploaded to a pornographic website.

According to her, these images were only meant for Flores, and she had no intention of sharing them with anyone else.

Police records indicate that Flores later admitted to uploading the images, fully aware that they depicted a teenager.

After making a statement at the police station, he was arrested, taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, and formally charged the next day.

Flores is expected to enter a plea on Friday as the case progresses.

This incident highlights the growing concern about online privacy and the dangers of intimate images being shared without consent, especially among younger individuals.

In cases like these, authorities encourage victims to come forward and report such incidents to prevent further harm and to bring those responsible to justice.
