He’s hoping for a Trump “deathbed conversion,” according to Bill Clinton: Imagine how amazing that would be

This week, former President Bill Clinton expressed his hope that President-elect Donald Trump would alter his ways and have a deathbed conversion in an interview with Stephen Colbert of the Late Show.

“The Supreme Court has stated that the president has broad immunity for his actions since you left,” Colbert remarked in an interview with Clinton on The Late Show on Tuesday. What would you have done differently if you had known it while you were in office?

Hillary Clinton replied, “Let me just say that opinion, in my opinion, should be repealed or drastically limited.”

Clinton continued, “You know, I was raised in the Baptist church, and I still believe President Trump could be like Paul on the road to Tarsus [sic], because I believe in deathbed conversions.” And just think of how amazing that would be.

“Really,” Clinton said, looking serious as the audience chuckled. If he so desired.

“That would be beautiful,” Colbert said.

“So I always think in anything like this, you have to plan for the worst and work for the best,” the former president said in closing.
