After killing her two sons last year and shooting them both in the head inside their family home, a 33-year-old lady from Kentucky faces the possibility of spending the rest of her life behind bars. She also claims that Facebook coerced her into carrying out the horrible deed.

Judge Rodney D. Burress of the Bullitt Circuit Court sentenced Tiffanie Lucas to two life sentences on Friday. One of the penalties was for the deaths of Jayden Howard, age nine, and Maurice Peanut Baker Jr., age six.

Prior to Burress delivering the sentence, a number of family members provided the court with victim impact statements.

“No matter how many times Lucas begged to be with the boy, he has held my son over my head since Maurice Jr.’s birth,” Maurice Baker Sr. told the court, according to Louisville, Kentucky-based NBC affiliate WAVE.

“He missed so many birthdays,” Baker added. She refused to allow him attend the party I had arranged. I pleaded with her. I asked if I could only talk to my son when I last texted her. She disregarded me.

Baker allegedly stared straight at Lucas after declaring that he had tried multiple times to get custody of his son and said, “You know what you are.”

Jayden’s grandmother, Regina Rowan, also addressed the court. According to Louisville CBS affiliate WLKY, she also made use of her time on the stand to have a direct conversation with Lucas.

Prosecutors told Louisville Fox station WDRB that Lucas’ chances of being released in just 20 years are quite low, even though she will be eligible for parole after serving at least 20 years.

Lucas said it was an accident and that she was persuaded by Facebook, the internet, or Wi-Fi when he fired four rounds in 30 seconds.

The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office reports that on the morning of the killings, a neighboring husband and wife saw Lucas lying down in their driveway and phoned 911 after learning of the horrifying scene inside the suspect’s house. According to reports, Lucas informed her neighbors that her children were dying.

When asked about the offenses, Lucas remarked, “I’m in such a bad spot,” and “I’m so stupid.” A detective testified that she would never do anything like this unless someone misled me after Lucas was arrested.
