According to police, a biker in San Jose died late Sunday night after colliding with a light pole.

According to police, the collision occurred close to Union and Bascom streets at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Police said the man, riding a 2008 Harley Davidson, was traveling east on Union Avenue at Bascom Avenue when he struck a light pole after veering off the road for an unknown reason. That’s where he died.

The identity of the rider will be revealed by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner.

According to the police, this is San Jose’s 46th road death and deadly accident of the year.
