In Scotland County, a woman faces allegations of illegal narcotics

Scotland County, North Carolina — On Tuesday, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit apprehended a person for possessing illegal narcotics.

According to officials, a Scotland County Sheriff’s Office K9 was searching for narcotics in public vehicle areas.

Makayla Goldson’s vehicle was notified, and illegal substances were found.

Goldson was arrested for the following illegal narcotic offenses.

  • Trafficking Opium/Heroin
  • Felony Maintain Vehicle C/S
  • Simple Possession of Marijuana
  • Misdemeanor Maintain Vehicle C/S
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • 2 counts of Misdemeanor Child Abuse

Two children were left alone in the vehicle while Goldson was doing other things inside the courthouse at the time of her arrest.

Goldson was charged with a crime and detained at the Scotland County Detention Center. She received a 300,000 secured bail.
