Madalina Cojocari cops provide a new update. Two years after the 11-year-old girl’s mystery disappearance & months after mom fled the US

The search for Madalina Cojocari, who vanished two years ago, has been updated by police.

On November 21, 2022, Madalina, 11, vanished from Cornelius, North Carolina, after stepping off her school bus. Detectives have been looking into her absence for almost two years, Cornelius Chief of Police David Baucom told The Sun.

They declared: CPD is dedicated to finding Madalina, and we will keep looking for her until we find her.”We continue to work with our law enforcement partners at the FBI and NCSBI, and police still have detectives assigned to the case,” Chief Baucom said.

Diana Cojocari has returned to Moldova, but the investigation into her is still underway. Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the Cornelius Police Department.

Both Madalina’s stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, and her mother, Diana Cojocari, have received jail sentences for neglecting to report the girl missing. Neither of them admits to knowing her location.

Both of them were found guilty of failing to report Madalina missing, and Diana, 37, was released from prison in May after serving 520 days.

The CPD designated Diana as a suspect in July. A few days prior, she had posted on Facebook that she was leaving the country.

According to CPD, we cannot stop her from leaving the country, and none of her goods was freed. There are currently no outstanding arrest warrants for her.

Diana has since posted a number of photos on Facebook that appear to have been taken in Romania. In one picture, a large sunflower is held up to the mother’s face as she beams at the camera. “In his father’s garden,” she wrote as the caption for the picture.

In a different selfie, she was standing in front of a lake while sporting sunglasses. She also shared further images of lakes and other landscapes on Twitter, one of which was titled Si asta e Romania, which means “And this is Romania.”

Madalina was returned to her family on December 12, 2022, after being reported missing only after school administrators became concerned about her absence from classes. Diana recalled putting her daughter to bed on November 23, but by the following day, she was disappeared, Diana told officials.

She claimed that in order to avoid conflict with Palmiter, she had postponed reporting her missing. Their eight-year marriage came to an end last month when Palmiter filed for divorce.
