Man killed in Morgan Hill shooting; suspect arrested

After a man was discovered shot dead in Morgan Hill on Wednesday morning, South Bay police have made an arrest.

Officers were summoned to the 100 block of Tennant Avenue shortly after 7:10 a.m. due to reports of a shooting. They discovered a male adult victim who had been shot at least once in the torso.

The victim was given CPR and wound care by the officers, however he passed away from his wounds and was declared dead at the site. The victim’s identity is still unknown.

Witnesses saw the suspect strolling around the scene while police attended to the victim. Jesus Garcia, 30, of Morgan Hill, was the suspect; he was apprehended without any problems.

According to police, this is the first homicide in the city in 2024.

There are no other details available regarding the incident. According to the police, there is no immediate threat to the community and the case is still being investigated.
