Investigators say a crash in southwest Oklahoma City overnight claimed the lives of a man and a woman.
It happened on I-240 between Western and Penn just after 4 a.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The victims were Quaylana D. Harris, 41, and Casey J. Townsend, 37, according to the authorities.
Troopers said that Townsend was a passenger and Harris was the driver as they drove west on I-240 close to South Western Avenue.
The car crashed into a tree after veering off the road to the right onto the westbound I-240 Service Road for an unidentified reason.
Townsend was ejected from the truck, and Harris was stranded for ninety minutes. Both died on the spot, according to the OHP.
According to troopers, no seatbelts were worn. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the collision and the driver’s condition.
