According to authorities on Tuesday, three vehicles were involved in a crash in Vallejo on Monday afternoon that resulted in one fatality and three injuries.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Sterling Street and Ascot Parkway on Monday at approximately 4:46 p.m. According to Vallejo police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 white Chevy Traverse traveling south on Ascot Parkway collided with a 2004 gray Toyota Solara traveling north when the driver, for whatever reason, crossed the center median.

The Traverse was forced into a 1992 blue Nissan Sentra that was also heading south on Ascot by the force of the collision. According to authorities, all parties stayed at the scene as the cars stopped at the crossing.

According to authorities, a Toyota passenger died from his wounds after being transported to a hospital. The victim’s identity was withheld until the Solano County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office notified his family.

According to authorities, the Toyota driver was transferred to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In addition, the driver and a young passenger in the Traverse were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to authorities, the three Sentra passengers refused medical assistance and were let go from the site.

It was Vallejo’s ninth traffic-related death of 2024.

Police said alcohol and drugs do not currently appear to be a factor in the incident, however they were still investigating the cause and other contributing circumstances Tuesday.

Police urged anybody with information regarding the collision to get in touch with Sergeant L. Alamon by email at [email protected] or by phone at (707) 648-4329.
