No Social Security payment on December 3? Check the new paydays

Sharing is caring!

Millions of seniors in America started receiving their Social Security checks on December 3. This payment was only made to you if you began receiving retirement benefits before to May 1997. Or if you were given them later but are now receiving retirement benefits and Supplemental Security Income in the US.

Recall that three additional payments will be delivered by the Administration. There is one exception, even though they often show up on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays in December.

Not all Social Security payments will be issued on Wednesdays in December

You may receive Social Security benefits on December 11, 18, or 24 if you were not eligible for the December 3 payment. As you can see, the second and third reward rounds are separated by just six days.

This is because December 25 is not a payment day for the Social Security Administration. The checks and direct deposits will therefore be made on the previous working day.

Additionally, in order to receive cash on either day, you must fulfill the birthday requirement. For instance, you will be paid on the eleventh, eighteenth, or twenty-fourth if:

  • Dec. 11: born between the 1st and the 10th
  • Dec. 18: born between the 11th and the 20th
  • Dec. 24: born between the 21st and the 31st

How much will retirees receive from Social Security in December?

In December, the Agency will pay about $1,927 to retirees. The SSA’s COLAFact Sheets are the source of this sum. Therefore, if you are not making as much money, it may be because you were unemployed for 35 years, filed at age 62, and your pay was low.

The maximum payout for retirees who filed at age 62 is $2,710. Naturally, you have to have held positions covered by the Administration and been a high earner for at least 35 years.

In December 2024, seniors can get up to $4,873. You may get up to $3,822 if you filed when you were of full retirement age. Retirees will receive their COLA on January 3, 8, 15, and 22, 2025.
