Virginia’s Dantonville (WNCN) The Caesars Virginia casino in Danville held its grand opening on Tuesday, drawing a sizable throng that included several residents of North Carolina.

In order to get a first look at the eagerly anticipated casino, a sizable crowd observed a march through the streets of Danville.

Chris Albrecht, general manager of Caesars Virginia, stated, “I think it’s another tourist attraction on a larger scale than we’ve ever seen here in the community.” Everyone will be proud of what we have created here, I believe.

After watching local dignitaries cut the ribbon at a ceremony, a long queue of people poured through the doors.Among them was Cassandra Freeman, who came from Raleigh.

“There is nothing in the Raleigh-Durham area,” Freeman continued. I simply made the decision to take the ride in order to celebrate Christmas and get out of the house for my birthday.

She told the newspaper that the Raleigh-Durham area needs a casino so that people can go out, have fun, and earn money.

Nearly 1,500 slots, 79 table games, sports betting, many dining options, and a 320-room opulent hotel are all highlights of the $750 million casino.Raleigh is about an hour and a half away, while Durham is a little over an hour away.

North Carolina needs casinos, said Gregory Smith, who was driving from Charlotte. I think there is a lot of untapped potential wealth that might significantly boost local economies and the lives of those living nearby.

The first sports wager was placed by NBA legend Dennis Rodman, who was also there.

Many citizens of North Carolina are expected to visit as the casino expands its entertainment options in early 2025.
