Oakland victim dies after overnight shooting

According to authorities, a person was shot late Thursday night close to Oakland’s East Peralta area and died early Friday morning.

According to Oakland police, the victim was rushed to a hospital but passed away just after 5:45 a.m. after officers arrived at the scene of a shooting reported in the 2200 block of East 12th Street just before midnight.

The deceased person’s name has not yet been made public.
