On a street on the North Side, 20 people have been shot in the past two years. prosecutors Finally, someone is charged with shooting a gun (but not a person)

In the past two years, the city’s North Side has seen 16 shootings and four fatalities. In the same block, there have been numerous shootouts and attempted shootouts, but nobody has been hurt.

Do you know which block we’re referring to? near to the Howard CTA station in Rogers Park, in the 1600 block of West Howard.

That may surprise you, but none of those shootings and killings have ever resulted in any charges against anyone. Locals and business owners attribute these incidents on a flourishing, round-the-clock drug market.

We asked the local alderman’s office and the police what they were doing to prevent the three gunshots that occurred on the same block not long ago. We never heard back from Ald. Maria Hadden’s office.

There has been some development, though. Last month, a group of people on the block were shot at by a man who is now facing charges. Fortunately, no one was harmed, and the crime was captured on camera.

The incident happened at 3:34 a.m. on October 6. In the footage, three people are seen standing on Howard Street’s north side, while additional people are seen standing on the south side.

As he approaches the other group across the street, one of the men makes a large hand gesture. He appears to speak to a member of the opposing side as he approaches. Then everything goes wrong.

He appears to be speaking to a man who then draws a gun and opens fire. The throng disperses as additional rounds are fired.

As he attempted to escape, the man who was crossing the street while making odd hand motions collapsed on the sidewalk. As the gunman goes north on Paulina, he stands up but stumbles and falls again.

The police now claim to know that Brandon Henry, 39, is the shooter in that video.

According to a police complaint, early that morning, Henry fired several shots toward a group of individuals on the public way. Judge William Fahy placed him in jail pending trial after he was accused with aggravated discharge of a firearm.

On October 7, the day after the police claim he fired rounds, Henry was also taken into custody, according to court documents. Additionally, that arrest occurred on the 1600 block of West Howard.

According to Henry’s arrest record, a Chicago police tactical unit spotted what they believed to be hand-to-hand drug sales.

They claimed that he had packages of what they believed to be crack in his waistline and plastic bags of cannabis and candies in his backpack that were allegedly tainted with psilocybin. The charges are still pending.

On October 23, there was the most recent gunfire on the block that resulted in injuries. One individual was killed, and two others were injured.

It was captured on camera, just like nearly every other crime, so proceed with caution. A second murder occurred in the middle of the traffic lanes on June 25, eight days after the first one near the intersection of Howard and Paulina. The murder was more akin to an execution this time.

Even though a lot of things have happened on that block, our inquiry revealed that no one else has been charged with public gunfire. No murder charges have been brought against anyone. Additionally, none of the shootings resulted in fatalities.

Someone was on the verge of getting charged with one of the shootings on November 16, 2018. A 30-year-old guy was shot and murdered by the gunman during a scuffle, according to the authorities. The gunman remained on the scene and spoke openly with law enforcement.

Prosecutors said he shot someone in self-defense, therefore they dropped charges against him. However, he was charged with possessing a firearm without a permission.
