Liam Payne, the 31-year-old former member of the boy band One Direction, tragically passed away on Wednesday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to local reports, Payne fell from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel, located in the trendy Palermo area of the city.
Alberto Crescenti, who leads the emergency medical services in the area, confirmed the incident to Argentina’s Todo Noticias TV channel.
He shared that Payne fell into the hotel’s courtyard, but did not provide additional details regarding whether the fall was accidental or intentional.
Crescenti mentioned that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of Payne’s death, and an autopsy will be conducted.
