The aircraft caught fire on takeoff, forcing the evacuation of a United Airlines flight from Houston to New York on Sunday morning.
Fox 26 was able to collect footage showing panicked passengers in a frenzy. As the plane started to roll forward for takeoff, flames burst from one of its wings.
A suspected engine problem caused United Airlines Flight 1382, an Airbus A320, to abort takeoff from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) just after 8:30 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
According to the FAA, passengers sprinted to the runway and were bussed to the terminal.
Five crew members and 104 passengers were on board when the incident happened.
The new departure time for the flight is 12:30 p.m. local time.
The agency said on X that Houston firemen helped passengers evacuate. No injuries were recorded.
Officials and an IAH representative said firefighters did not put out the fire.
The event is being looked into by the FAA.
