San Jose police are looking into a gunfight that broke out late Monday night between six plainclothes officers and numerous suspects.
The gunshot occurred just after 10:35 p.m. near Melbourne Boulevard and McLaughlin Avenue, close to Interstate 280, according to a department statement. Unknown suspects opened fire on the officers, who the police claimed were working on an unrelated incident.

The suspects left the scene after the police returned fire. There have been no reports of injuries.
