Authorities in Beehive State say a Virginia man is in custody in Utah after playing a sexually predatory game of truth or dare with some young boys.

The Saratoga Springs Police Department has charged 42-year-old Robert Paul Walker with five charges of lewdness involving a child, one count of interfering with a witness, and one count of failing to register as a sex offender.

According to the police, the father of a few of the accused victims knew about the defendant’s problematic past, which includes similar offenses.

Associated coverage:

According to an affidavit of probable cause that Salt Lake City ABC station KTVX was able to obtain, the defendant was taken into custody this week.

According to police, a number of victims between the ages of 10 and 12 attended a party that Walker threw. Police were informed by witnesses that the defendant pushed the lads to play truth or dare during the party, and the dares allegedly went too far.

According to investigators, Walker also made the victims play a different game with him called the “touch your body challenge.” Sexual actions and clothes removal were supposedly part of this game.

Due to a 2005 conviction for sexual battery in the Old Dominion, the defendant is listed as a registered sex offender on a Utah Department of Public Safety registry.

Walker’s position is mentioned in the probable cause document, which also asserts that the father of two boys was well aware of the defendant’s past.

The father told authorities that he had known Walker for approximately nine years, according to the affidavit. His father claims that the defendant revealed his criminal background as a sex offender at that period.

Investigators were also informed by the father that he thought Walker was addicted to seeing films of child sex abuse.

According to the father, Walker would sometimes pull his kids out of school, and the defendant had been living with his family intermittently since April, the police said.

Walker recently told the father that he was grooming the two kids, according to the investigators. According to reports, the father expressed regret to investigators for putting his trust in the defendant and letting the registered sex offender be around his kids.

Walker allegedly threatened several of the victims that he would be arrested if they told anybody what had happened, according to court filings that Salt Lake City-based CBS station KUTV cited.

While the registration violation and witness tampering are third-degree felonies, the lewdness accusations are class A misdemeanors. Walker might receive a sentence of little less than 15 years if found guilty as charged.

At the moment, the defendant is being held without bond at the Utah County Jail.

Because they think Walker is a flight risk, authorities asked for no bail.
