Tribal Investigators were notified in confidence on January 7, 2025, that William Pablo, 39, might be in possession of harmful substances.

Pablo was a frequent visitor to the Gray Wolf Peak Casino, was on probation, and had a history of narcotics possession and methamphetamine use.

After searching the casino for Pablo, investigators called Probation and Parole to report their findings. Pablo may be searched if they got in touch with Probation and Parole.

Investigators couldn’t get in touch with Pablo until they arrived at the casino. However, detectives were searching for Pablo’s car after he left the casino.

An investigator saw a car that fit that description pull into the casino parking lot at 10:58 p.m., drive to the entrance, drop off two female patrons, and then pull into the parking lot. Pablo’s description of the driver was accurate.

Investigators Identify the Driver

After stopping behind the car, investigators went up to the driver and were able to identify him as Pablo. Pablo consented to the search after investigators told him that Probation and Parole had given permission for it.

After arriving on the scene, tribal officers assisted in the hunt for Pablo and his car.

On the inside walls of Pablo’s car, investigators found a hollow pen tube with white residue, a pill crusher, a black zipper case containing a vial of liquid, a syringe, and an Altoids mint container.

There discovered multiple tiny Ziploc baggies of methamphetamine within the mint container.

Pablo claimed ownership of these objects once they were presented to him. Pablo acknowledged that the package contained methamphetamine when investigators questioned him about it.

Clear Intent to Sell

When investigators opened the container, they found 21 tiny Ziploc baggies filled with methamphetamine. Each baggie had a number in ink on the exterior that seemed to be pricing because it matched the amount of drug it contained.

Pablo was subsequently brought to the Missoula County Detention Facility when the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office was called to carry out a follow-up investigation.

The evidence found in Pablo’s car was confiscated and recorded, per court records.

Each bag’s weight was determined during inventory and recorded on a department scale. The total weight of the bags contained the following:

  • 10 bags, marked with 10 , weighing approximately .5 grams ea.

  • 1 bag, marked with a 15 , weighing approximately .6 grams ea.

  • 6 bags, marked with a 20 , weighing approximately .7 grams ea.

  • 2 bags, marked with a 30 , weighing approximately .8 grams ea.

  • 2 bags, marked with a 50 , weighing approximately 1 gram ea.

Pablo is presently facing charges of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and felony criminal possession with intent to distribute. A $100,000 bond was imposed for him.
