Shortly after being arrested, a cruise ship passenger who was caught on camera acting out passed away.
According to FOX 11, Michael Virgil, 35, was seen trying to kick down a ship’s door as soon as it departed the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal for Ensenada, Mexico.
Christifer Mikhail, a cruise passenger, informed the local television that the inebriated man had threatened to kill us. He began to follow us down the corridor.
On board the Navigator of the Seas, Virgil allegedly attacked two members of the Royal Caribbean crew and tried to kick down a towel room door in order to get to one of them.
Mikhail acknowledged that he was a little afraid. This hallway has me stranded.
Virgil was accused of using racist slurs and foul language.
According to Fox 11, he was shown on camera brandishing handcuffs, towels, zip ties, bear or pepper spray, and a shirtless body before security restrained him.
Virgil’s relatives told FOX 11 that he passed just an hour after security gave him a tranquilizer injection. What transpired, they said, was unusual for him.
The family member told FOX 11 that he didn’t deserve to die because of it.
According to the station, Virigl leaves behind a wife and a seven-year-old kid who were also on the vacation.
We are saddened by the loss of one of our patrons, Royal Caribbean said in a statement to Fox News Digital. We sent an offer of support to the family and are assisting law enforcement in their investigation.
Although the reason of Virgil’s death is unknown, the FBI is reportedly looking into the incident, according to FOX 11. A question on the investigation’s status from Fox News Digital has not received a response from the FBI.
