Two individuals have been accused in relation to a smash-and-grab burglary that occurred in October at Union Square, San Francisco, where luxury goods valued at around $300,000 were taken.

Denayaha Duree, age 23, and Xavier Garcia, age 20, are charged with participating in a theft at Christian Dior, located at 185 Post Street, according to a statement made by District Attorney Brooke Jenkins on Thursday.

The two are accused of vandalism, organized retail theft with intent to sell, grand theft, and second-degree commercial burglary. Duree is also accused of purchasing or receiving stolen goods.

Jenkins claimed that Garcia and Duree committed the crimes when they were free on bond.

“You are mistaken if you believe that it is acceptable to drive into a business in the middle of the night in San Francisco and rob it. Jenkins stated in a statement, “You will be found, taken into custody, and charged.

Prosecutors claim that Duree and Garcia were part of a group of at least ten suspects who committed the burglary on October 11 at around 2:40 a.m. The bunch, who were all wearing masks and some gloves, arrived in many cars, according to the prosecution.

The store’s entrance was broken by one of the automobiles. After gaining entry, the suspects took goods and ransacked the store before departing in less than a minute.

The trio allegedly stole 66 bags valued at over $290,000. The store also sustained damage from the robbers totaling around $250,000.

A year prior, there had been another smash-and-grab at the Christian Dior shop. A group of thieves also stole a car, many handbags, and other items in the 2023 crime. Two suspects were taken into custody by authorities after the smash-and-grab incident.
