San Francisco police investigating shooting that injured 1 in SoMa District

According to San Francisco police, one individual was hurt in a shooting that occurred in the SoMa District on Monday night.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the incident took place close to Mission and 9th streets.

One person was wounded by a gunshot when police arrived on the scene. The person was brought to the medical facility.

Their state was unknown.

Officers were alerted that the gunman might be in a nearby building, authorities said. Police encourage people to stay away from 9th Street between Howard and Market streets while they are still on the scene.
