In relation to a home invasion robbery and sexual assault that occurred at an apartment close to the San Jose State University campus last month, San Jose police announced an arrest on Tuesday.
Officers were summoned to the 700 block of South Ninth Street at approximately 1:45 a.m. on November 2 in response to complaints of a home invasion robbery.
A male suspect allegedly broke into the flat and pointed a gun at two ladies and one man who were there at the time, according to the investigation.
According to the police, the suspect then assaulted and threatened to kill the man after binding the other three victims. After sexually abusing the two women, he stole their money and personal property.
Detectives from the department’s Robbery Unit found a suspect during the investigation and secured search and arrest warrants. The suspect, identified as Santa Clara resident Juan Jordan, 58, was taken into custody by police on December 10.
On suspicion of several offenses, including robbery, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and sexual assault, Jordan was arrested and taken to the Santa Clara County Jail.
Jail records show that Jordan is being held without bond. On Wednesday, he is expected to appear in court.
Detective Hernandez of the department’s Robbery Unit can be reached by phone at 408-277-4166 or by email if you have any more information on the case.
