San Jose Police Arrest Suspect After Hit-and-Run Kills Pedestrian on King Road

Last night, a hit-and-run driver killed a passerby.

The San José Police Department says the victim, an adult man, was crossing King Road when he was hit by a 2012 Dodge Caravan. The driver then left the scene of the accident.

The accident happened north of the Salamoni Court crossroads, where there was no crosswalk. This shows how often people don’t care about pedestrian safety, especially when they’re not in a marked area.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and declared dead. This is the 43rd traffic death and 16th pedestrian death in the city this year.

Police quickly found and arrested the driver, which shows how seriously the San José Police Department is taking the rising number of road deaths.

The number of deaths has reached a very worrying high level just ten months into the year.

The police are actively looking for information from the public about this case.
