Second arrest made in deadly shooting thought to be linked to gangs

In relation to the death of 18-year-old Lancaster resident Jelani Jackson, police said Thursday that they had made a second arrest.

According to Lancaster police, Jackson was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on Clinton Avenue on September 4.

Following his arrest in Richmond County on Wednesday, Lamonte Roberts, 31, of Lancaster, was charged with murder, possessing a firearm while conducting a violent felony, and possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.

Kenyan Blair, 19, of Lancaster, is being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center after being arrested in September on charges of murder and violent felony possession of a handgun.

Federal investigators have determined that five subsequent shootings were gang-related and retaliatory.

A $20,000 prize is being offered by the FBI and ATF for information on these cases.
