According to authorities, a man who had previously been found guilty of drug dealing was taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly selling huge quantities of methamphetamine in the neighborhood.

Investigators started looking into Raymundo Flores-Navarro, 48, of Santa Rosa in November, according to Santa Rosa police. Detectives arrested Flores-Navarro on Wednesday at 11 a.m. after executing a search warrant in the 900 block of Ware Avenue.

A K9 officer from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office was sent in to help detectives search Flores-Navarro’s residence. “Duke,” the K9, warned that there were drugs in the kitchen. According to authorities, a digital scale and roughly 4 pounds of suspected meth were found during a follow-up search of that place.

Detectives probably wouldn’t have found the alleged drugs without Duke, police claimed in a social media post.

There was no bail for Flores-Navarro. His next court appearance was set for Friday, according to jail records.
