Shocking: Prisoner Breaks Protective Order from Behind Bars in Poughkeepsie!

A 21-year-old inmate from Beacon, New York, has been charged with violating a protective order while incarcerated at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in Poughkeepsie.

The incident happened on Friday, October 19, when Brandon Mima allegedly contacted someone he was legally required to stay away from.

This contact reportedly occurred through both telephone and video communications, which are restricted under the protective order.

According to Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Watterson, Mima now faces charges including an aggravated family offense and two counts of criminal contempt.

These charges reflect the seriousness of violating protective orders, even from within a jail setting.

Mima remains in custody at the Justice and Transition Center, and he is expected to appear in court on Monday, October 28, to face these new charges.
