Shocking! Three Injured After Wrong-Way Driver Causes Chaos on One-Way Street!

A man in Syracuse was arrested after being accused of hitting three people with his car while driving the wrong way down a one-way street.

Deandre Wilkins, a 24-year-old, was taken into custody on Saturday following a warrant related to the incident, which occurred in May on West Colvin Street.

The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on May 22 when Wilkins, driving a 2024 grey Honda Accord, intentionally struck a person, according to the criminal complaint.

The individual hit by the car suffered a broken arm and was knocked unconscious. As Wilkins continued driving, he hit two more individuals.

One of the victims reportedly jumped into the driver’s side window of Wilkins’ car, hanging onto the vehicle as it sped down the street.

Police said that Wilkins continued to drive at a high speed while the person was hanging out of the car window. This individual eventually fell off, suffering multiple burns.

The third victim was struck after Wilkins’ car veered off the road into an open lot, according to police reports.

Law enforcement stated that Wilkins’ reckless actions put other drivers and pedestrians in serious danger.

The entire event was recorded on multiple cell phone videos and police cameras, which captured the chaos as it unfolded.

Wilkins now faces several charges, including second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He is currently held in the Onondaga County Justice Center jail, with bail set at $25,000 in cash or $50,000 bond.
