On Saturday morning, a tragic incident unfolded in the Town of Warren, N.Y., when 23-year-old Nikolai Tazin was arrested and charged with the murder of his uncle, 50-year-old Andrey Tarasenko.
According to New York State Police, the fatal shooting took place on Hicks Road as Tarasenko attempted to leave the property.
Witnesses reported that Tazin used a shotgun to shoot his uncle while he was in his vehicle. Tarasenko was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the incident, Tazin was interviewed by police and claimed he had been injured during a physical altercation that occurred before the shooting.
He was taken to Wynn Hospital in Utica for treatment and was released on Monday.

Immediately afterward, he was transported to the State Police barracks in Herkimer, where he was officially charged with one count of murder.
