At least one person was hospitalized Monday during a rolling gun fight between two cars in Pleasant Hill, according to investigators.
At around 11:49 a.m., dispatchers got calls of a shooting at the intersection of Vivian Drive and Contra Costa Boulevard involving two separate automobiles, according to Pleasant Hill police.
Witnesses reported multiple rounds being fired between the vehicles, according to the police.
Five blocks north of the intersection, police reported finding one of the vehicles used in the gunfight. One of the passengers was shot in the hand, and the car had been struck by gunfire several times.
The patient had non-life-threatening injuries when they were brought to the hospital.
Detectives were looking into whether a custody issue was the potential cause of the altercation, according to police, who said it was thought that the two individuals involved in the shooting knew one another.
During the police investigation, Contra Costa Boulevard was closed southbound at Doris and northbound at Ellinwood.
It was unclear if anyone was detained, and no other injuries were recorded.
